The Methodist Conference Home (MCH, Inc.)
began in 1965 as the vision of Maine United Methodists concerned about the welfare of senior citizens in Maine. The intent of these services is to maintain maximum self-sufficiency by supplementing a person’s own energy and resources.
Today, MCH, Inc. continues to provide a critical safety net of essential services for the most vulnerable members of our community — our elderly and disabled neighbors. These services include housing, meals and other supportive services.
MCH Housing operates four affordable independent housing facilities with apartments that are home to 133 low income seniors and disabled people: Methodist Conference Home, Rankin Center and Stevens House in Rockland and Knox Hotel Apartments in Thomaston. (The operating expenses for these four facilities are covered by rents paid by residents and U.S. federal government funding.)
